Hallidonto Manifesto!

The body is a main focal point for m
y work we has become a product, self legitimacy has been overridden, we have been conditioned to consumerism, we have become
the product. Post-modern theorists comment on the human condition in contemporary society, stating we live in a world of hyper-realty, which consist of fabricated idealisms. The body is projected as an object of perfection, commodity subverts the status quo thus infusing non-truths and blurred realities, the branded body only has legitimacy when consuming and thus being consumed. Critically comment ranging in areas of societal construction to the show body as a branded commodity, the body as a creation of our contemporary society our reality is one of decadent narcissism we are the germ that is must be cleansed we are the dirt we are the product. Aesthetic question of decadent consumption.

The work is set out to question contemporary society’s idea of the body by examining the aesthetics of such. The idea is that the body has become co modified. The great interest I have is in the body politic. How it is attacked by consumerism and how it responds to it, in my work I a see its intrinsic behaviour taking second place to consumerism. Bodies with no other interest than to be commodified in many forms.
The ready-made; is an object from the world of commodification/ mass production, its object has an aesthetic value in that the object is a mannequin- it is not real- it is not visceral ( NOT FLESH AND BONE) These objects are conditioned to consumerism.
